The course is aimed to physicians who treat patients in acute, urgent and critical situations and who are new to point-of-care lung ultrasound, or are in the early phase of their learning curve*.
This course aims to provide professionals with tools for point-of-care image acquisition and interpretation and teach how to use the ultrasound to identify, manage and monitor different lung pathologies in emergency and ITUs settings.
The first international conference dedicated to pulmonary ultrasound, whose recommendations were published in The Journal of the European Society of Intensive Care (Volpicelli G, Elbarbary M, Blaivas M, et al.
International Evidence-Based Recommendations for Point-of-Care Lung Ultrasound Intensive care Med 2012; 38: 577-591) lays the foundation for its application and constitutes an important reference.
The current Course has been adapted to the results of the consensus conference and strictly follows the recommendations of international experts.
