ICU Provider FOCUS +
The diffusion of echocardiographic skills among non-cardiologists has improved the accuracy of the diagnostic approach in emergencies in various contexts, such as the Emergency Department, Intensive and Sub-Intensive Care Units, and acute care wards.
The use of the two-dimensional (2D) method, the subject of basic and advanced courses for non-cardiologists, requires limited execution times, with relatively simple interpretation for fundamental ultrasound syndromes; however, this method has significant limitations in the evaluation of some pathologies and some functions/dysfunctions.
The examination with Doppler techniques (color, pulsed, continuous and tissue) represents an important complement to 2D investigations, in particular with regard to valvular pathologies, pulmonary pressure, diastolic function and cardiac output.
The purpose of the course is to transmit knowledge and skills related to the use of Doppler techniques in carrying out echocardiographic investigations, for doctors already competent in 2D echocardiography.
A 1-day Workshop on Focused Cardiac Advanced ECHO-ICU (FoCUS +).
The FoCUS© course is specifically designed for critical care and emergency physicians, anesthesiologists, acute cardiac care clinicians, and healthcare providers in general, dealing with cardiovascular emergencies.
It is a workshop detailing the use of cardiac doppler in shock as an additional component of the focus exam. the workshop is an introduction to the ultrasound evaluation of fluid responsiveness, cardiac output, and intracardiac pressures, and will lay the foundations for command of the ultrasound “non-invasive pulmonary artery catheter.
