Nathan Forsyth

Nathan is a Clinical Nurse Consultant for the Vascular Access Specialist Team at The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) in Melbourne.

He is also a Nurse Practitioner Candidate in the Emergency Department at RCH, actively training to become a Nurse Practitioner. Alongside his clinical roles, Nathan holds an honorary research fellow position at Swinburne University.

With a strong passion for Point-Of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) in paediatric care, Nathan focuses on enhancing diagnostic procedures and improving the accuracy of interventions.

His expertise in paediatric Peripheral Intravenous Catheter (PIVC) insertion aims to minimise the number of attempts and ensure the longevity of the PIVC throughout the patient’s journey, reducing complications and the need for additional placements.

Nathan’s academic background includes a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Ultrasound and a Master’s in Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

He is also nearing completion of a Master’s in Advanced Nursing Practice – Nurse
