Jurgita Valaikiene

Jurgita Valaikiene (neurologist) is an associate professor at the Clinic of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Vilnius University, Lithuania.

She is the Head of the Neurosonology Laboratory and a responsible physician for the European Reference Centrum in Neurosonology, Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos.

She gained her medical degree, neurology residency, and Ph.D. degree at Vilnius University. Her post-graduate training includes fellowships in Germany, the United Kingdom, and Austria.

Dr. J. Valaikiene’s current research interests involve cerebrovascular disease and neurovascular ultrasound, neurological point-of-care ultrasound, stroke prevention and acute stroke treatment. In addition, she is the lead of the postgraduate training courses in Clinical Neurosonology at Vilnius University.

Being a representative and a member of EAN and ESNCH, she participates as a faculty of various international teaching courses. She also serves as a reviewer of several international high-ranked journals.
