Since 2008, Head of the Intensive Care Unit of the Surgical Medical Research Center in Havana, Cuba.

Full Member of the Cuban Academy of Sciences and Senior Researcher.

Lines of research include point-of-care applications of transcranial ultrasound (cerebral hemodynamics) in traumatic or medical neurocritical patients (liver failure, sepsis, COVID19); ultrasound (FOCUS, VExUS) in the postoperative of cardiac surgery; and hemodynamics in critically ill patients.
