Dr Aidan Baron BParamed, BSc Hons, GCertClinUS(EM), MD

Aidan is an internationally recognised Paramedic, researcher, educator, and junior doctor based in Sydney Australia.

He is Central Queensland University’s 2022 Alumnus of the year for his contributions to paramedicine and emergency medicine internationally, and is also the recipient of a Philips Young Clinical Pioneer Scholarship for his work in developing prehospital ultrasound.

Aidan is an honorary researcher in emergency, cardiovascular, and critical care at Kingston University, London; sits on the editorial board of the Journal of paramedic practice, and is a visiting lecturer in pre-hospital care at universities in both the UK and Australia.

He was the first Paramedic globally to become an EGLS instructor, the first paramedic in the world to diagnose SBO outside hospital using POCUS, the youngest ever UK College of Intensive Care FICE Echo instructor, and founded The PoCUS Course©; a commerical prehospital ultrasound training company with sites in Australia, The UK, Belgium, Portugal, and Spain.

Aidan has been the official prehospital ultrasound instructor to the Royal Australian Navy School of Underwater Medicine since 2018 and has taught POCUS in more than 13 countries.
