Thanks to the visionary leadership of our former Head of the Department of Medical Intensive Care, ICU physicians have had exclusive access to the ultrasound device since 1986.
Even as young ICU doctors, we utilized ultrasound to address daily clinical challenges.
We quickly gained proficiency in interventional ultrasound and began collaborating with WINFOCUS in 2007, expanding the practical applications. Since 2008, we have regularly offered the USLS-BL1 course twice a year.
Recently, we introduced the FoCUS course as part of our POW WINFOCUS initiative. Our team primarily consists of internist intensivists who utilize point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in their daily practice.
Our emergency intervention unit offers ultrasound-guided interventions to patients from various departments. Our educational team comprises specialists from radiology, cardiology, gastroenterology, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, and neurology, all recognizing the value of ultrasound in patient care.
As a university hospital, we provide an elective course called “Ultrasound as a Stethoscope”,which is highly popular among students.
Additionally, structured ultrasound education iscintegrated into the postgraduate curriculum for emergency medicine studies.
